Get ready to explore one of the most popular parks in the region. Whether you are looking for fun-filled excitement or opportunities to relax some, there are tons of activities available in Beavers Bend State Park.
Beavers Bend State Park is located along the shores of Broken Bow Lake and the Mountain Fork River and is just two miles from Red Bear Cabin. Visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, water skiing, nature center activities, river float trips, canoeing, horseback riding, and much more. This post explores a few of the activities available to you.
Hiking

There are lots of great hiking trails to explore and enjoy the great outdoors. AllTrails, which is a great resource for finding trails to explore, has details on the top 15 trails in the park. The 3 most popular trails are included here.
Friends Loop, which is a 1.5 mile loop, is one of the most popular trails for hiking and trail running. There are a few steep climbs but you’ll love the views of the Lower Mountain Fork River and waterfall along the way.
Skyline Trail is an advanced trail for adventure seekers offering scenic views and shaded paths. It’s 9.5 miles long and has over 1,600 feet of elevation change with a number of water crossings and hills to navigate.
Lookout Mountain Loop, another popular trail, is 2.9 miles long and features scenic views with steep climbs and over 500 feet in elevation change. You’ll find fellow explorers enjoying hiking, bird watching, and nature trips on this trail.

Biking

Grab your bike and travel off the beaten path as you discover some of Oklahoma's most scenic trails. Two of the most popular biking trails in Beavers Bend State Park are the Lake View Lodge Trail and Choctaw Nation Trail.
Lake View Lodge Trail Short Loop - This trail offers 3 loops of wide and fast singletrack. It's smooth and fast and you can catch air on the trail in some sections. Enjoy scenic views of Broken Bow Reservoir during your ride. Loop 1 is .4 miles, Loop 2 is 1.5 miles, and Loop 3 is 3.8 miles.
Choctaw Nation Trail (formerly Indian Nations Trail) - This trail is very technical and runs 5 miles one-way. There's a singletrack throughout that winds in and out of coves and ravines along Broken Bow Reservoir. There are lots of ups and downs and typical mountain terrain.
Nature Center
The Beavers Bend State Park Nature Center offers daily programs for everyone to enjoy. Get closer to nature and participate in campfire programs on the banks of the Mountain Fork River, nature hikes, arts and crafts classes, water sports, sunset hikes, nature films, and astronomy outings. Here, you’ll learn more about the park and have fun doing it!
Cedar Creek Golf Course

Known for its pine-rimmed fairways, Cedar Creek Golf Course is a long, narrow course surrounded by pine forests and the deep-blue waters of Broken Bow Lake. The course features 18 holes at 72 par, Bermuda grass greens, tees and fairways, a putting green, driving range, pro shop with cart and club rentals, snacks, and drinks.
